This past Fall, Shaw Nature Reserve (S.N.R.) hosted its fourth annual Prairie Walk for middle-schoolers from Washington, MO.  Forty-seven young boys and girls enjoyed a wonderful 2-hour walk through the wildflowers and tall grasses of the large prairie, accompanied  by naturalists that explained the historical significance which the many different types of plants had for the people and animals that lived near and in these prairies many years ago.
