These are other organizations/individuals who also participated in the July 2008 Connecting Children With Nature forum (and worked closely with the Charter Member core group to establish the Gateway Children’s Nature Connection), or organizations/individuals who subsequently learned about Gateway CNC. These organizations/individuals, although unable to commit the level of staff time and resources to Gateway CNC that the Charter Members have committed to, are still very much interested in working within Gateway CNC to connect children with nature in the Greater St. Louis area; and are designated as Members or Associate Members of Gateway CNC.

Charter Organization Members
As indicated in “About Us”, a core group of organizations/individuals in the Greater St. Louis area came
together, following a forum held in Chesterfield, MO in July 2008 (sponsored by the Arbor Day and
Dimensions Foundations) on Connecting Children With Nature, to establish the Gateway Children’s Nature
Connection. This core group of nine organizations, by virtue of their commitment of staff time and
resources to Gateway CNC, have been designated as the Charter Members of Gateway CNC:
* Doris I. Schnuck’s Children’s Garden (at Missouri Botanical Garden)
* Saint Louis Zoo
* Shaw Nature Reserve (operating division of Missouri Botanical Garden)
* Missouri Department of Conservation (Outreach & Education)
* Litzsinger Road Ecology Center (affiliated with Missouri Botanical Garden)
* Dr. Edmund A. Babler Memorial State Park - MO Dept. of Natural Resources - Div. of State Parks
* Southern Illinois University Edwardsville - School of Education
* Raintree Learning Community
* Univ. of Missouri - St. Louis (Professional Studies & Continuing Education Dept.)
